They entered the Belgian market almost one year ago. How does that feel? Jeroen Degadt is General Manager at Digi in Belgium. You can hear him at the C-Level Operator Panel Discussion, where you learn about the status and vsion on fibre in Belgium.

We visited Jeroen Degadt in his office in Brussels. Near Albertina, next to the buildings of the Parliament of the Brussels Region in a contemporary office building. Despite his busy agenda, we met a cheerful and relaxed man. When asking for his background he whispers that he's an engineer (from KU Leuven Campus Ghent), but he's clearly more extravert than the average engineer. He's also got a Master's degree in Applied Economics (University of Ghent), and he's got clearly a more outspoken profile as a passionate entrepreneur.
As he weighs his words carefully, he calls for greater cooperation. (for this, we pardon his Dutch 😉):
'The challenge in telecom, hmmm... It is so huge, that we as a sector have to work together.'
After presenting himself, he continues:
'I'm leading all the commercial and infrastructure teams. Digi has launched their activities in December 2024. And since then we're building more and more networks.'
How does that feel?
'It's an exciting challenge to launch a new operator in the Belgian market. Digi is investing massive amounts into networks. Fixed and mobile networks.'
He explains:
'And we need those networks to bring affordable telecom to all Belgian consumers.'
What is the message he wants to bring to the Fitce Fibre Congress?
'At the Fitce Congress, I will explain how we plan to do this. It is not easy. Building networks is a marathon. '
What are the challenges?
'There are several regulations. But we are an international group with expertise in a lot of countries.'
What is the future bringing?
'We are also focussed on building fibre networks. The coming 5 years, we aim to cover all dense areas, all the biggest cities, build also mobile networks.'
How does it fit in the vision of Digi in Belgium?
'We need this own network to be able to offer the best service to our customers at affordable prices.'
Jeroen Degadt explains his call for cooperation in more detail:
'In order to make investments in telecom profitable, and in order to reduce the hinder maximally for citizens and communes, Digi is a fan of collaborating with industry partners. This has happened in other countries, and we look forward to make significant deals'
And he closes with a call to you:
'The Fitce Fibre Congress is a great opportunity to get to know Digi better and learn how they succeed in covering 30 million customers in Europe.'
Don't miss this. Don't miss the early bird rate!
