During the Fitce Fibre Congress we had a chat with Olha Almashy and Wilfred de Wildt, both from Yungo. Olha is a Project Leader at Yungo, Wilfred is the CEO.
The last 4 years Olha has been focusing on as-built, mainly on projects in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. At the Fitce Fibre Congress she shared her experience.
Wilfred is a Dutchman in Prague and he's a very enthusiastic captain of a very enthusiastic supporting company member of Fitce.
What is as-built? When rolling out a network, one first makes a design at high level. This plan is being refined in a next step, in a low level design fase (LLD). These plans are used during construction works. But sometimes one deviates from the original plans. An as-built is the plan that reflects the real situation.
Some managers feel an attempt to update the plans later, to "fix the data later". But Olha warns us: this is a very dangerous idea. You risk to double your costs.
