Event Schedule

11:45 Doors Open

12:00 Introduction by Johann Marquez-Barja (Board Member Fitce, professor UAntwerpen - imec)

12:05 Telco-Edge-Cloud Convergence

    • Mauro Boldi, European Project Manager, TIM Italy

Drawing on this combination of industrial experience, European research collaboration and strategic involvement in IPCEI-CIS, Mauro will set the scene for the webinar, presenting how Telco, Edge and Cloud are converging across Europe, the initiatives driving this transformation, and the opportunities and challenges ahead for Europe’s digital infrastructure and sovereignty.

Mauro Boldi brings a strong European, industrial and research perspective on Telco-Edge-Cloud convergence. He works in TIM’s Innovation Department, where he has been involved for many years in European collaborative research and innovation projects and currently manages TIM’s participation in projects under Horizon Europe. He is also Chair of the IPCEI-CIS Facilitation Group, contributing to the coordination of a large European ecosystem working towards a federated Cloud-Edge continuum.

    • Nina Slamnik-Krijestorac, Principal Investigator, imec

Nina will complement the European and industrial perspective by presenting what we are actually building and demonstrating in Belgium at imec, and how these technologies are helping turn the vision of a programmable and intelligent Telco-Edge-Cloud continuum into reality.

Nina Slamnik-Kriještorac brings the academic, research and Belgian perspective on Telco-Edge-Cloud convergence. She is a Principal Investigator at imec and the University of Antwerp, within IDLab, where her research focuses on network programmability, zero-touch service management, network slicing, and intelligent orchestration across the 6G device-edge-cloud continuum.

Her work combines fundamental research with the development and validation of real-world 5G and 6G solutions, including programmable EdgeApps, on-demand QoS, and network orchestration for demanding vertical applications such as mobility, automotive, and transport and logistics. She has contributed to multiple European 5G and 6G research initiatives, bringing this research into experimental networks and real-world demonstrations.
